The modern balcony power station is the easiest and simplest way to generate electricity and reduce your electricity costs. The requirements are very simple – all you need is two to four square meters of sunny space and an outdoor socket and you’re ready to go!
Functionality
With a balcony power plant, you can capture sunlight directly on your balcony and convert it into electrical energy that you can use immediately. The solar panels consist of photovoltaic cells made from special semiconductor materials like silicon, which directly convert sunlight into direct current (DC). An integrated inverter in your system then converts this direct current into alternating current (AC), which you need for household use. You can feed this converted electricity directly into your home’s internal network via a special socket to power your electrical devices or meet your general energy needs.

A balcony power plant refers to a compact photovoltaic system with an output of up to 800 watts peak (Wp) or 0.8 kilowatts peak (kWp), specially designed for installation on balconies or terraces to generate electricity for personal use.
These systems, often known as “mini PV systems”, offer the ideal energy solution for people without access to their own roof. They are ideal for placement on a balcony, terrace, in a garden, under a carport, on a fence or on a house wall and are characterized by their ease of installation – they can simply be hung over a railing or positioned on the ground.
